recovering root password in aix

There are different ways to recover the root password depending on the situations:

 Case -1. In case of standalone server with NO-NIM configured in the environment . we are left with only one option to recover the root password that is through CD.

Case-2. If NIM is configured in the environment we can recover the root passwrd by booting the server in maintenance mode through network.

Case- 3. If it is cluster node and we are able to login to the other node ,we can reset the root password using hacmp fron the other node.
